Julio César Madrid founded Café Uba in 2014 with the vision of creating something different from traditional coffee businesses in Colombia. On his three farms - Riviera, Milán, and Buenos Aires - he grows diverse coffee varieties and uses innovative fermentation methods to produce high-quality specialty coffees.
The farms span over 200 hectares in Risaralda, Colombia, with around a million coffee plants and more than 20 varieties. Young, nutrient-rich soils combine with cool mountain air and extended fruit maturation, allowing the coffee to develop complex and distinctive flavors.
Julio carefully controls fermentation and drying, ensuring the best process for each variety. Thanks to this dedication and the excellent environmental conditions, Café Uba has won national and international quality awards and been recognized in barista championships worldwide.
