Los Osos Project
This year’s iteration of Isa marks a return to a favorite program in Colombia: The Los Osos ("The Bears") project organized by our partners at The Coffee Quest. Los Osos was born from an alliance with Parques Nacionales del Huila, in a shared effort to generate "buffer zones" around the Nevado Del Huila and reduce deforestation—The park provides native tree species and The Coffee Quest plants them in the farms of the producers.
Los Osos group lot is a tribute to the restoration and protection of biodiversity in Santa Maria, Huila. Named after the endangered Spectacled Bear, also known as the “Andean Bear,” this lot symbolizes the region’s unique wildlife.
Filter Coffee Revolution
Specialty coffee in the Netherlands has been built around espresso. Cappuccinos, flat whites, the occasional cortado. Filter coffee, meanwhile, has mostly stayed in two camps: either the hipster pour-over bars with their scales and timers, or the old commodity stuff that's been sitting on a hot plate since morning.
We think things could be better! Isa is our case for filter coffee that anyone can appreciate and fall in love with.
It's not fussy. It's not trying to shock you with insane acidity or exotic flavors. It's sweet, balanced, and easy to drink. The kind of coffee where you finish your cup and immediately want another. Our head roaster Daniel has access to every coffee we carry and dozens more, and Isa is what he makes for himself most mornings.
If you've written off filter coffee, or never really given it a chance, Isa might change your mind. And if you're already a filter enjoyer, you're going to love this one.
