Antonio Medina’s farm is located in the highlands of Antigua, Guatemala, at 1,700 meters above sea level. Antonio inherited the land from his father, who divided the family farm among his children. What
began as a small plot for growing corn and beans eventually became Antonio’s lifelong dream: a coffee farm.
Antonio planted his first coffee tree in 1991 after years of working on different coffee farms and learning the craft. More than 25 years later, his perseverance has paid off, with Gesha becoming one of the most celebrated coffees grown on his farm.
This special lot is carefully picked at peak maturity and transported to the wet mill the same day. The cherries are depulped and undergo a slow, 32-hour dry fermentation before being carefully washed. The coffee is then dried naturally on the patio for 10 days, turned frequently to ensure even drying.
For Antonio, this coffee represents more than a celebrated variety. It is the result of decades of patience, experience, and dedication to the dream he started more than 30 years ago.
