A completely different take on great espresso from an unfairly underrepresented origin. Venezuelan coffee is sadly difficult to come by, and when we had the opportunity to source this exceptional coffee from Falsir Durán at Finca Los Naranjos in Mérida, we jumped at it. Light on its feet, juicy, and silky-smooth, this rare coffee is roasted "omni" style, designed to give you a smooth, flavorful espresso or a refreshing filter coffee depending on your preference. We were only able to procure a couple hundred kilos, so get it while it lasts!

Finca Los Naranjos

Finca Los Naranjos is the home of Falsir Durán, a passionate Venezuelan coffee producer who has spent the past 11 years dedicated to growing high-quality coffee in the mountains of Mérida. What began with just 2,000 Villa Nueva coffee trees has grown into an impressive 104-hectare farm, with 99 hectares dedicated to coffee production.
The Villa Nueva variety is grown under partial shade using a combination of organic and conventional farming practices. Located in the Valle de Mocotíes, one of Venezuela’s most renowned coffee-growing regions, the farm benefits from a unique microclimate shaped by the Mocotíes River and Lake Maracaibo, along with deep, fertile soils rich in organic matter.
Falsir’s commitment to coffee extends well beyond his own farm. He has donated around four million coffee seeds to fellow producers and invested in processing equipment and infrastructure to improve quality and provide services to the surrounding community.
This is a coffee shaped by a remarkable place and a producer deeply committed to quality. We’re excited to share Falsir’s work with you in the cup.

Connection

Connection

Our connection to this coffee starts with our love for Venezuelan coffee and, especially, with Valeria, one of our senior roasters and cuppers. Born and raised in Venezuela, Valeria has always had a personal connection to the country’s coffee and a strong desire to see more of its exceptional coffees represented in the specialty coffee world.
Venezuela is a beautiful and diverse country, with growing conditions perfectly suited to high-quality Arabica. Yet for many years, Venezuelan specialty coffee has remained largely hidden from the international market due to a complex combination of political, social, and economic factors. For Valeria, bringing great Venezuelan coffee to the Netherlands is therefore about much more than simply finding an excellent coffee—it is about sharing a part of her home and its coffee culture with the people around her.
Finca Los Naranjos and its producer, Falsir Durán, are a wonderful example of the dedication and perseverance behind Venezuelan coffee today. Over the past 11 years, Falsir has built his farm into a thriving coffee operation in the Valle de Mocotíes, investing not only in his own production but also in the wider coffee community. He has donated around four million coffee seeds to other producers and developed processing infrastructure that serves both his farm and neighboring farmers.
What makes this coffee especially exciting for us is the story behind it: a producer who started with just 2,000 Villa Nueva coffee trees and, through years of hard work, has grown that beginning into a remarkable coffee farm focused on quality, innovation, and community. His coffee is a reflection of both the unique environment of Mérida and the dedication that goes into producing specialty coffee in Venezuela.
It has long been a dream of Valeria’s to share exceptional Venezuelan coffee with her friends, neighbors, and our customers here in the Netherlands. This coffee gives us the opportunity to do exactly that.
There is a lot of dedication, pride, and perseverance behind every bag of Finca Los Naranjos. We’re proud to share Falsir’s coffee with you and to help bring a little piece of Venezuela closer to our community.
